Dave and Ann were at home - Dave was working, Ann was eating her breakfast, when the earthquake struck. The apartment shook severely prompting us to leave, shall we say, smartly... Phones went out, internet service went out. We lost power, but only for a few seconds until some emergency generator somewhere cut in. The lifts descended to ground floor, opened their doors and then refused to go anywhere. Eventually we returned to the apartment and got changed. Dave finished up for the day and we left to sit in a bar to be near people...

The statistics Where? When? How strong? How bad? Considering the strength - we got off lightly. |

Below are some photos borrowed off the TV station websites www.king5.com, www.komotv.com, www.kirotv.com - top marks, by the way, to these TV stations for excellent coverage during the day. | ||||

Fenix Underground - that
red car in the foreground took it badly |
Buildings lost parts of
walls - rubble fell into the street |

Falling rubble crushed this vehicle - I think it was an SUV
|
Same again - the wall dropped off this building onto the parked cars below
