Following Ann and Dave's jaunt back to Blighty to partake of fine beer and curry, Shirley accompanied us back on the plane to stay with us for a couple of weeks. The journey back was grueling to say the least - five hours to fly from Chicago?! What...?! Anyway, once here and rested she had a bit of a tour of the place... Here are the photos...

First up is the un-missable trip to see the troll at Fremont. Made of concrete and sporting a real VW Beetle as its meal of the moment, the troll lives under Aurora bridge...

Next ... On to Gasworks park where the old gasworks was, now turned into a park for all to enjoy, with its own special kind of public art... Gasworks Park is on the edge of Lake Union:

This is Shirley and Ann under the tunnel of concrete arches that presumably used to carry pipes and the like:

Here's Shirley in front of one of the old gas pumps, now brightly painted and firmly set into concrete...

The park sticks out into Lake Union - here's Shirley with Seattle behind her - Space Needle is on the right hand side of her, with the majority of downtown on the left.

Lake Union is where the float-planes take off and land. They go up to Canada and do sight-seeing trips over Seattle. Here's an action shot of a float-plane just taking off (or was it coming into land?)
